Welcome Students, to the X-Net!
By now, you will all have been given a new fingerprint scanner to hook into your computer's USB port. The computers in the library have them too. This scanner will allow you access to your own personal account on our newest addition to the school; an email system and message board of our very own. (Yes, the scanners are claw friendly, Inu-Yasha. I had to shop around.)
Since it can sometimes be hard to talk about who we are and what we do in the real world, and since Professor Xavier would rather we talk about it here than on Facebook or Twitter or Instagram or Snapchat or Tumblr or Pinterest, he had me create our own little slice of heaven right here. Or, you know, at least a place where we can post announcements or ask questions without having to pass out fliers. (I mean I'm not even sure paper is a thing anymore, right?)
Feel free to use the forum just like you would any other bit of social media. Think of it as an MSS or Mutant Social Sphere! All mutants, all the time. But, uh, remember that it's going to be monitored by the teachers, so let's keep it clean. Or as clean as clean gets, I suppose.
Don't worry about venting anything super secret about your powers in your private internal emails either. This internal network is locked down with enough security that it puts the NSA to shame. Say whatever you want - it isn't getting to anyone who isn't a student or faculty member of this school. I mean, feel free to be as paranoid as you want. I won't judge.
If you have any questions at all, please bring me coffee or donuts or the next season of Riverdale and I will attempt to answer them. No, no, seriously, any questions, come ask me. Or email me! Because you can do that now. Or just reply to this post, because you can do that too.
Mutants of Xavier's, the X-Net is yours!
Ever the Most Awesome,
Kitty Pryde
